Tip Jar
The idea is to have very small presentations of around 10 minutes in length that are a quick tip on how to do something. We could even have a receptacle for people to place tips in that we could read. Other times, someone could go up and demo some quick thing.
Topics
Here are some
TipJar topics that might be good
- Using the ALE TWiki (Done by Charles(
- X Keystrokes (ctl-alt-backspace, ctl-alt-F*)
- Copying and pasting in X -- why it's so screwed up, different ways to work around it.
- getting a shell in konqueror

A few shorties I would like to see...
- System backup to DVD+-RW (perhaps even DVD-RAM)
- pcHDTV HD-3000 card demo (perhaps with KnoppMyth?) (perhaps even I could give this one once I figure it out for myself!)
- Brief, broad, high-level summary of political issues that intersect with Linux / OSS
- Practical RFC 1149/2549 implementations...
- Back-to-basics security topics review (heavy on giving solid online references)
