Christopher Bergeron asked: Does anyone know of any Atlanta area "Fry's" or Digi-key like stores? I need some electronic components ASAP.

Here are some replies:

  • RS Electronics (Norcross) http://www.rselectronics.com has closed its retail store but does sell by mail or office visit.
  • Austin Electronics (Norcross) 770.449.8697 has those obscure and necessary little parts - used and in limited quantities, but they have them.
  • only place in Atlanta that I know of is ACK Radio http://www.ackradio.com/ in northern midtown. ACK is an "old" supply house on Deering Rd near Northside Drive. I think its on one of the side streets of of North Side Drive relatively close to the Ga Tech area. Not open on Saturdays.
  • Delta Electronics still is around and treated me quite well in late November. They are: I285 to Peachtree Industrial North, take the first exit to the right (heading East). Right behind Home Despot in Doraville. 770-458-4690
  • Don't forget MicroCenter's (http://www.microcenter.com) new location on Pleasant Hill, Duluth, between Buford Highway and I85 on the North side of the street. They have almost everything and very helpful and friendly. Their Cobb County store is, I think, off of Delk Rd near I75.
  • We have Fry's (http://www.frys.com). One is in Duluth, behind Gwinnett Place Mall (Commerce Drive). The other is in Alpharetta on Webb Road.

Occasionally, I see posts in this group from people that are looking for hard to find parts for projects (At work or as a hobby). Anyway, I been using these people for a long time (In my case, for work...) to procure hard to find parts and materials. If they don't have it and they don't know who does, your probably not gonna find it:

If you have the bandwidth, download the on-line catalog (It's 30 something MB's). If not, you can browse thier on-line catalog. They have excellent service and they stock what they list on-line and in their catalog.
