BASH Problem Solving

I have been interested in a web space where anybody can throw out BASH (or other shell) problems and challenges to be discussed and worked through as a group. I believe that this would be benificial for those like me with an interest in improving our commandline abilities. I envision problems which can be solved with three or four commands linked together as a pipeline or a handful of commends in a small shell script.

The topic of a BASH tutorial has been discussed on the ALEMailingList and their seems to be some interest. It would be very nice to get an organic discussion going with users of various skill levels.

ExcerciseNumberOne is not my own work. My thanks to David Jackson who conducted the ALE NW Bash Bootcamp a few weeks back. If anybody still has his handout, don't go looking for the answer.
