How to Get There Fly: We recommend landing at Providence, RI. It's about the same distance as Boston, but cheaper and easier to navigate. Reasons to go through Boston: There's all kinds of historical stuff and sight-seeing opportunities. Plymouth is between Boston and Woods Hole. You can ride a bus from Boston to Woods Hole. Providence or Boston to Woods Hole is about 2 1/2 hours. (Bayway Travel, 1-800-359-0365.) Drive: If you picture Cape Cod as an up-raised arm, Woods Hole is at the elbow; Provincetown at the fingertips. From Providence take 195 east (stopping at the Mattapoisett Inn for lunch) to Wareham; then 495 south across the Bourne Bridge. From Boston take 3 south past Plymouth; then 6 west, and 495 south across the Bourne Bridge. Now everyone's on the hideous traffic circle on the south side of the Bourne Bridge, in the armpit of the Cape. From here take 28 south to Falmouth. Pass the ferry parking lot on the right. The road curves to the left at a gas station. Stay on it one block; then take the next right onto Woods Hole Rd. Turn right at the first light onto Oyster Pond Rd. then left immediately onto Quisset Ave. You'll see a golf course on both sides of the road. It ends on the right, but continues on the left. Turn right onto Whitman, then right again onto Agassiz Rd. The house is number 10, on the left. The phone there is 508-548-1317. Bus: We think there's a bus that leaves the Boston airport daily for Woods Hole (you might want to check this). The Woods Hole buses all stop at the ferry dock in downtown Woods Hole. Walk inland to School Street and up the hill about 3/4 of a mile, past the Children's School of Science and a block past the end of the sidewalk. Turn left on Whitman and right on Agassiz Road. Number 10 will be on the left. Try calling first to see if someone will drive down and fetch you.
